There’s a few things college students can’t get enough of and coffee is definitely one of them. Whether you’ve been at the library cramming all day or you just need to get through that three hour long class you regret picking up, coffee is always the answer. Although FSU has a few options, it never seems to be enough. How many times have you been late to class because you’ve been waiting in line at Starbucks, Dunkin’ or Einstein’s for that cup of Joe to get you through the day? Well good news, FSU has a new coffee provider on campus that will be worth the line.

The Java’Mon Coffee Beenie Café has taken over the west side of campus with its Caribbean inspired menu and flare.  With locations in the Virgin Islands, they bring a change from the typical big brands around campus. They pride themselves on their unique coffee and Caribbean style adding an original, vibrant location to FSU.

Java’Mon provides an array of different roasts and styles of coffee including: latte, cappuccino, expresso, and American along with their specialty brews. You can add additional flavor or shots expresso if you’re looking for that extra kick in the morning. Pretty much anything coffee, they have it. There’s even the option of purchasing their coffee beans online through their website if you’d rather by in bulk.

For any non-coffee lovers, there’s options for you too. Java’Mon has smoothies, hot chocolate and hot tea on their menu. They are also pretty flexible, if there’s something you want that is not on the menu, don’t be afraid to ask.

No matter your drink of choice, Java’Mon provides a nice break between classes. They have a set up with chairs and reggae music for a new, refreshing element that is different from anywhere else on campus. Their Caribbean vibe transfers from everything from their beverages to their cafe truck which you can spot painted in red, yellow, and green. Each cup of coffee comes with a handful of personality.

“I have class pretty close to there so I decided to stop by and I really liked it. The prices are also pretty good which makes it even better,” said junior Ashlyn Page after being asked about her experience at Java’Mon. “There’s something really cool about it.”

Next time you need that shot of caffeine between classes or even just a nice place to hang, stop by the Java’Mon Coffee Beenie Café located conventionally next to Fresh Food and across from the psychology building on 1110 W Call Street. They open at 7 a.m. for any early risers and close at 5 p.m. You can find out more about them through their website: dajavamon.com or on Facebook.
