6 Thoughts You Have When Starting a New Netflix Series (As Told by Grey’s Anatomy)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TAMU chapter.
1. This show better not waste my time.

All of my friends told me to start this dramatic soap opera of a television show. Another doctor-themed plot line? If it is anything less than fabulous, I will have to find new friends with better taste.

2. I hope there are a lot of seasons.

If this show is cancelled early with a horrible ending or stupid cliffhanger, I will write a very strongly worded letter to the network.

3. Just kidding, I hope this show ends quickly because I’m falling behind in my classes…

TWELVE seasons? Seriously Shonda Rhimes? You are the devil. Why doesn’t Netflix automatically close out when you have watched three seasons in a row? Enough is enough.

4.  I swear if a likeable character dies, I’m done with this show forever.

I AM IN LOVE with this dreamboat of a character, but I can’t get too attached. This show has a habit of killing off people unexpectedly. Man, I am setting myself up for disappointment, aren’t I? Oh look…he died. He was dismembered in a horrifying car accident. That’s cool.

5.Why is it so hard for the main characters to get together? These romantic obstacles are so unrealistic.

Why oh why is there always a love triangle? Why can’t boy meet girl and then boy marry girl? They are clearly perfect for each other! Why does the love of her life have to be in a coma? Why is he having a hard time deciding between his soulmate and the evil she-witch? Dramatic music always plays when they are locking eyes while walking past each other in slow motion. Don’t the other characters see this?

6.Wow this show is so amazing. What was my life like before this?

What was I watching before this glorious masterpiece that is ruining my life? I’ve never experienced such strong emotions about fictional characters in all of my existence.
