Why You Should Add This Breakfast Food To Your Skincare Routine

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Fordham chapter.

If you’re like me, the morning is always a rush to grab a bite to eat before running to class or work. One of the best go-to breakfasts is a quick bowl of oatmeal, and as it turns out, it can be great for your skincare routine as well! Now that spring is upon us (#Blessed, am I right?), it’s time to make sure our days sitting out on Eddie’s or on the beach during Spring Break don’t damage our skin. Using the power of oats and some of the newest products from St. Ives, here are a couple ways to keep your skin radiant and healthy this season.

1. Exfoliate!

Exfoliation is the perfect way to remove any dead skin on the body, and it leaves your arms and legs feeling super soft. For collegiettes who are looking for a gentle exfoliation, St. Ives Nourished & Smooth Oatmeal Body Scrub is the perfect choice. Use it up to 4 times a week and get that healthy, ready-for-Spring-Weekend glow.

2. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize.

Although exfoliation can be great for the skin, it’s imporant to always follow up with a good moisturizer. Since exfoliating strips your skin down, putting some moisture back into it will make sure that softness lasts throughout the day. St. Ives Nourish & Soothe Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Lotion is a great complementary product to the exfoliating body scrub. It smells good AND it’s paraben-free. Yes, please!

Hopefully these tips keep your skin healthy and happy as it recovers from the bitter cold of the winter months!

P.S. St. Ives has teamed up with OatMeals to bring the goodness of oatmeal to life. From now until April 8th, you can pick up a St. Ives Radiance Boost Bowl at their NYC store location. Yum!
