To City or Not to City?

Ship students can convince you to visit this city:

Are you looking to travel somewhere but aren’t really a city person? Nashville, Tennessee could be one of the many different types of cities that would be fun for you then. The good thing about Nashville is it has a lot to offer for those of you who are 21, and for those who are under 21. Some people who would know this are the Shippensburg University concert band students.

They recently traveled there over spring break to perform in front of the Grand Ole Opry. After their performance they had a tour of it and got to see where the show Nashville was sometimes filmed and where many famous country artists have performed. This could be something that you can do too.

When visiting Nashville not only can you visit the Grand Ole Opry, but right next door you could go into the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and see the breathtaking scenery of the inside. Walk along the paths under mini waterfalls and pass the many palm trees and other exotic plants.

Another breathtaking sight to see in Nashville is the Parthenon. This structure is a full-scale replica of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece. Today it functions as an art museum but you may also visit it to walk around, you don’t need to see the inside to see all of its beauty.

If you’re not much of a history buff and don’t really care for the historical aspects of the city, then you can visit downtown Nashville. Aside from all of the bars located downtown, there are many other restaurants and shops that you can go in. Some students in the band went to BB King’s House of Blues one night for dinner and they said it was a really fun night. “It was really cool and I had a good time,” one of the students Alli Harbour said.

You could also hang out on the roof of the George Jones Museum which overlooks the Cumberland River and the Tennessee Titans stadium. Students from the band went here as well and said it was cool because there was a live band and dancing. They also said it was cool how in downtown Nashville every restaurant they passed had a live band playing.

So whether you are 21 or not, Nashville, Tennessee could be a great city for you to visit in your travels. Just make sure you can handle country music, that might be all you hear for most of your trip.

I'm Nicole! Nikki, Nic, anything you want to call me really. I'm from south-eastern Pennsylvania and I love life and beauty. Whenever I'm not writing or taking pictures for my blogs or social media accounts, you can find me (hopefully) at the beach surfing, traveling, making new friends and seeing new places. I'm in love with people I've never met and places I've never been to. I am currently a Senior (!!!) at Shippensburg University, majoring in Communications Journalism (focusing in Public Relations) and minoring in Psychology. I would love to work for a PR firm with advertising, event planning and perhaps a chance to travel. Thanks for reading!! - Nicole
