We all watched with bated breath as Joelle (Jojo) Fletcher stepped out of the helicopter in her stunning pink beaded gown. From all of the promos leading up to The Bachelor finale, we thought that Ben Higgins was going to send Jojo home and then have a change of heart, ultimately bringing her back to profess his undying love. Quickly we realized that that was not happening, and Ben got down on one knee to propose to Lauren.
After explaining how much she loved Ben with a voice broken from emotion, Jojo was blindsided and left broken hearted. But is this the best thing that could have happened?
For the producers of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, probably. And for us? Very much so. Jojo will be undoubtedly the best Bachelorette that the show has seen, and here are the reasons why.
1. We just watched her get her heart broken

America already loves Jojo, and it hurt viewers to watch her heart get crushed into little tiny pieces by Ben Higgins. Jojo and Ben were best friends, their relationship seemed more real than any other. And Ben told Jojo that even though he was saying goodbye, he still loved her. Really? After going through this extremely emotional journey with her, we now get to see Jojo find her happy ending – a man who will pick no one over her.
2. Jojo is caring and compassionate

Throughout her time on the Bachelor, Jojo always put Ben’s feelings first. She always tried to make sure that he was okay, and tried to comfort him if ever he wasn’t. Even when he was breaking her heart, she didn’t want to see him cry. As the Bachelorette, we know that Jojo won’t blindside any of her potential fiancés, and we know that she will get to know them for who they are.
3. Jojo is a good sport

Even when things don’t go quite right (like this helicopter landing, or maybe her hometown visit) Jojo doesn’t let it phase her. This quality is absolutely necessary in a Bachelorette, because things don’t always happen the way that they should.
4. She is gorgeous

I mean, when did you ever not envy her perfectly curled hair? Or her makeup? Or her bikini body? Though we know that it’s on the inside that counts, Jojo has to be one of – if not the – most beautiful Bachelorettes in the history of the Bachelorette.
5. She has great style

From her bright neon bikinis to her many classy cocktail party dresses, Jojo never seemed to have a fashion faux pas. We are looking forward to a whole other season of Jojo’s outfits. 6. She’s positive

When there was drama in the Mansion, Jojo never got caught up. She was never bitter, and never resentful – even after Ben broke her heart. As the Bachelorette, we can be sure that Jojo will stay positive on her journey to find love.
7. She’s relatable

She was never snooty or too good for anything on the show. Her openness throughout the show made the audience feel like we were getting to know the real her. We can’t wait to find out even more about Jojo next season!
8. She’s not afraid to talk about real things

Jojo was one of the only women who talked to Ben about what life would be like after the Bachelor (at least from what we saw on camera). This quality makes her seem more grounded, and will help her have conversations about the less glamourous things with the many men vying for her heart.
9. She is genuinely looking for love

Jojo never made her time with Ben just about her, she was constantly trying to build their relationship. She didn’t come on the show for fame, she really wanted to find her future husband! She has been hurt in the past, and after what happened with Ben, Jojo deserves to find her one true love!
