The Many Stages of Kylie Jenner’s Hair, Ranked

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NYU chapter.

All anyone can seem to talk about these days is the Kardashian family.  Yes, that’s right.  I am adding fire to fire, but we just have to talk about the many stages of Kylie’s hair.  I mean, it is something worth analyzing. Amongst the plastic surgery talk, the lips, the butt, and the clothes, Kylie has never been known to keep one look for more than twenty-four hours.  Her hair, in particular, is something worthy of its own post.  From all colors of the rainbow, to styles and lengths, she has managed to pull off every look under the sun.  It’d be easy if we all had an A-team of stylists to help us pull off any look we wanted to. If you’re here to see the evolution of it all, you’re in the right place.  No need to imagine her hair in any other color, given that she’s most likely already done it!  Starting from normal hair color to the extremes, this post will highlight Kylie’s mind blowing hair-volution:

1. All Black

Kylie’s short black hair suits her well.  Its typical Kardashian-dark, and not to mention, totally chic. Classic Kylie.

2. Natural Ombre

In my opinion, this one was Kylie’s best.  She not only had fun with the mesmerizing color, but the look also turned out very natural.  Simple ombre is a great way to add some flare to a dark colored root.

3. Black with Bangs

This flirtatious look rings “Old Hollywood”. The dainty doll-like bangs and cleanly curled ends complement Kylie’s features very nicely.  It’s definitely a more playful hairstyle, but you know at the end of the night, you can return to your natural look.

4. Ombre Blue

This hairstyle to me shouts ‘Rocker Kylie’.  While, this look is a bit more daring and bold than her natural ombre look, it definitely suits the refreshing summer to come. Rock on, Kylie.

5. Grey Extensions

There was a period of time when the grey tone was wildly popular and sought for. Here in this picture, Kylie fiercely rocks it with some extensions. Wearing it like Ariana is something different that we don’t see from her much.

6. Green Extensions

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any brighter, BOOM!  This green look is what I imagine mystical mermaids-come-to life hairstyles to look like.  Its smooth quality and enchanted colors were definitely meant to mesmerize.

7. Blue Extensions

There really isn’t one color this girl can’t pull off.  From sea green to this sweet cotton-candy blue, Kyle is genius.  Although this screams fake all too loudly, I give the girl major props for rocking a color that only a sugary carnival treat should be donning.

8. Blonde Extensions

Can you say Sister Sister?  Clearly, there was a time when Kylie followed her big sister’s footsteps.  Kim and Kylie share many resemblances, and the stark blonde may just have been one of them.

9. Pink Extensions

This was Kylie’s transition into the next look, but for the few days she had this bubble-gum pink, she was lovin’ it.  From the mischievous pout to the shabby bangs, you can just tell the girl knew that she could do pink better than Pink! This look almost gives off a rebel skater ambiance.

10. Rainbow Extensions and Braids

We were all wondering how Kylie would be sporting Coachella-wear this year.  Low and behold the rainbow braid.  Another mystical look and another laudable accomplishment.  It really fit the vibe of the festival perfectly and combined all the looks from above into one seamless look.

Of course, you don’t have to be Kylie Jenner to have neat hair.  Nor do you have to have her money to do so.  There are amazing products that can give you a temporary look or permanent look.  Most products are sold in your average drugstores, making it easy for anyone to change up their hair.  One thing that I truly believe is that you can change up your hair however you’d like.  It’s never something that lasts forever because it can either grow out or get dyed to a different shade that you prefer.  It’s something fun that is meant to be creatively played with. I give Kylie lots of credit for being a paragon of confidence and trying every color under the sun (even if some don’t suit her for the better). Kudos to Kylie for being dauntless!
