5 Reasons We’re Ready for September

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UGA chapter.

August is nearly over, and September is right around the corner! It’s been a great month of back-to-school fun, but here are some reasons we at HC UGA are looking forward to the month of September.

1. Labor day weekend.

Yes, we know we have only been back in school for a few weeks. But yes, it is absolutely time for a day off. The first month of school can be an Whether you plan to spend your extra time on a fun weekend getaway, with your family, or just lounging in your bed with your laptop and a Netflix marathon, it will be a day well spent.

2. Football season.

Starting September, our beloved bulldawgs are back in action. Get ready to fill the stands of Sanford Stadium and scream until you have no voice. There is nothing like singing along to the Redcoat Band while surrounded by a sea of red and black. Whether or not you enjoy watching the sport itself, you can’t ignore the magic that UGA football creates.

3. All your favorite TV shows come back.

You’ve spent all summer trying to use Netflix to fill the voids that your favorite shows left in your life after their finales in May. Binge watching is a beautiful thing, but there’s something special about being treated to a new episode only once a week. Plus, fall creates a ton of new TV shows that you could fall in love with!

4. The weather finally starts to cool off.

After melting our way through August, we deserve the chance to walk to class without making sweat stains in our t-shirts. The thermometer may not reach perfectly crisp fall temperatures quite yet, but at least we are one step closer.

5. That Green Day song.

Don’t lie to us. You know you sing it at least once this month.
