Tell me more about Love Your Melon! How did you and your friends get involved?

My roommate, Kelsey Kuebler called me on the phone this summer at 3:00 in the morning and told me about this organization called Love Your Melon (LYM) and that we needed to bring it to campus. LYM is a nonprofit that through its buy one, give one program aims to send a hat to every child in the United States undergoing cancer treatment. Half of the proceeds go to research while the other half goes to making more hats. Love Your Melon’s two partners are CureSearch, a research facility located in Bethesda, MD, and the Pinky Swear Foundation, which gives immediate financial assistance to families with children battling cancer.

You were just elected President of Phi Sigma Sigma! What do you hope to achieve this year?

I want to foster a sense of positivity in our chapter, push my sisters to be the best they can be and continue to be a model chapter for the GW community.

Do you have an RA horror experience?

There are a lot of cockroaches in my dorm!

What has been your favorite memory thus far at GW?

Well my #onlyatGW moment happened last year when my law class and I got to see Elonis v. U.S., a top Supreme Court case of the 2014 – 2015 term. We then had a lecture immediately following in the lawyers lounge given by Justice Alito.

Word of advice to your freshman self?

Don’t spread yourself too thin and stay true to who you are.

Who inspires you?

Ruth Bader Ginsburg and just strong female leaders in general.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?Well I think I’ll be out of law school by then. On my way to being the next RBG.
