1. Don’t compare yourself to others

This may be a hard task to do and it takes time to master it.  Once you have, you see things in a new light.  You don’t need to worry about what others look or act like or even what they have.  You are you and there is nothing better than that.

“If you feel beautiful, then you are. Even if you don’t, you still are.” – Terri Guillemets

2. Give yourself alone time

Of course it’s good to spend time with family, friends, and loved ones, but you need some time for yourself.  You need to make time often to let yourself relax and do what you love to do.  Watch some Netflix, read a book, draw, etc.

3. Spend time outside

Nature is beautiful, just like you.  Step outside and appreciate the sunlight, the trees, or the flowers.  Respect nature as you should respect yourself.  Look up at the night stars and look how they twinkle and shine just like you do.

4. Let go of the hurt from the past

“…nobody can break your heart if you love yourself.”  This is a quote from the book, The Voice Of Knowledge by Don Miguel Ruiz.  In this passage, he talks about how no matter what happened in the past, love still exists.  Love will always be present.  So no matter if it’s a breakup, a petty fight with a friend, or you forgot your mother’s birthday, put that behind you.  As Queen Elsa would say, “Let It Go…”  Now that song is probably stuck in your head.

5. Treat yourself

You deserve to reward yourself.  After all, you are amazing.  Some ideas are: a spa day, buying yourself something you’ve been wanting, eating your favorite meal, etc.

6. Smile more

It is scientifically proven that if you fake a smile, in a matter of time it becomes real.  Of course, don’t bottle your emotions.  But you have such a wonderful smile, show it off to the world!

7. You can’t please everyone

No matter how hard you try, someone will always disapprove.  “Don’t let the haters stop you from doing your thang,” (Mean Girls quote).  As long as you are happy and healthy, keep living your life the way you always have.  After all, nobody else knows you better.
