What We’re Obsessing Over: November Necessities

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

It’s finally our favorite time of the year! The season of the FS-flu, pumpkin patch pictures and end of semester crises has returned. The chilly air and pumpkin spice lattes are more than welcome in our neck of the woods, but they come at a price. Our picks this week will help you combat the sniffles and existential crises that inevitably accompany the coming of the winter months.

Joanne by Lady Gaga: Sara Gomez, Graphic Designer

“At first listen, the album is very different from anything we’ve heard from Gaga before. She trades in her pop bangers and beats for a more chill, folk/country vibe, yet maintains her trademark anthem-y vibe through soulful lyrics, ballads and plenty of groovy choruses to sing along to in the car with your best friends. After listening to the album in full a second time, I realized it is packed with themes of women’s empowerment, femininity and friendship, which just made me love it that much more. My favorites are without a doubt ‘Grigio Girls,’ ‘Hey Girl’ and ‘Just Another Day.'”

Peanut Paradise Smoothie: Sasha Polissky, Public Relations and Event Planning Director

“The Peanut Paradise Smoothie from Tropical Smoothie is a delicious meal or snack after a workout! It’s made with peanut butter, non-fat yogurt and a choice of protein. If you’re feeling extra hungry, you can even pair your smoothie with a choice of a half sandwich or half salad (I love to get the chicken caesar salad). As a person who doesn’t drink coffee, this smoothie is the perfect pick me up to get me through the rest of my day!”

Over-the-knee boots: Taylor Zollo, Social Media Director

“I am currently obsessed with over-the-knee boots. As it starts to get colder in Tallahassee, making cute, and somewhat warm, outfits has been a struggle. A few of my friends bought this pair and I can’t wait to get mine!”

EOS Sweet Mint Lip Balm: Trinity Lakin, Public Relations and Event Planning Director

“As it gets cooler and the air gets drier, my lips start to get really chapped. This lip balm is such a lifesaver! It keeps your lips moisturized for hours and the cool minty feel really invigorates you. The mint flavor makes your lips feel tingly and fresh, which is awesome during a season when your hands and lips are always dry. Whenever my lips are chapped or I just need a little refreshing boost, this lip balm comes in clutch.”

Roasted Dandelion Spice Detox Yogi Tea: Mallory Hudson, Social Media Director

“This is ITTTTT. Tallahassee plague season will soon be upon us and as someone who does very little to help her immune system it can be tough. HOWEVER this tea can be your savior. It is the perfect tea to protect your body and detox yourself from all of the crap we throw in it. Want to survive? This is the key!!! Save yourself and spend three dollars to greatly improve your life.”
