Hunger Games Actress Eugenie Bondurant Comes to USFSP

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at USFSP chapter.

On October 27th, USFSP students gathered in USC ballroom 3 to learn from the experiences of Hunger Games actress Eugenie Bondurant.

With a welcoming smile and a relaxing confidence, Eugenie managed to discuss everything ranging from tips for aspiring actors to how she landed her role as Tigris in the final Hunger Games film.

During the intriguing one-hour event, students even had the opportunity to ask questions about what it was like to work with Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson (OMG!).

“Jennifer and Josh were just the sweetest, and you really got a sense of family around them,” Eugenie said.

She also talked about ways to get over stage anxiety and nervousness, a topic brought up by USFSP student and actress Kelli Carmack.

“When I practice monologues in my room, I feel like I do them really well, but then when I audition for people, I get so nervous,” Kelli said.

“The less you care – even though you have to care and you have to prepare – the less you focus on that ‘Oh my gosh, I’ve got to be perfect here,’ (the more) that the monologue ends up becoming a lot more poignant,” Eugenie continued, “I want you to get a deck of cards and I want you to sit down at a table. As you are saying the monologue, put them (the cards) in suits. You’re really having to think about what you have to do.”

The USFSP campus community was thankful to have had such an enlightening evening with Eugenie Bondurant, and students were sure to hit the “Follow” button on all of her social media accounts after the event.
