Gender roles take place in all societies, and often make people feel restricted. Gender roles pressure men to be hyper-masculine and women to be hyper-feminine. However, we’ve seen some fight against gender roles. In reality, not all guys are athletic and not all girls love shopping. Some people don’t even identify as boy or girl. So, why bother with gender roles when there are countless other rolls out there that are way better? Here are five rolls that are far better than gender roles.
Cinnamon Rolls
Cinnamon rolls are gooey deliciousness swirled together to create a delightful taste that soothes the soul. Cinnamon rolls will never force you to succumb to societal expectation the way gender roles do. Cinnamon rolls want you to be yourself.
Pizza Rolls
Pizza rolls are every millennial’s childhood. With a crispy exterior, burning hot cheese, sauce, and probably pepperoni and/or sausage interior – what’s better than pizza in roll form? These wonderful pockets of pizza-infused joy are gender neutral. They would never make fun of you for not being strong enough, not being cute enough or not fitting in enough. Pizza rolls like you just the way you are, unlike gender roles.
Egg Rolls
Egg rolls might be flaky, but flaky in the way we love. They provide you with that crispy, flakiness and delicious meatiness. Egg rolls don’t hold back, and neither should you. Where gender roles might restrict you, egg rolls encourage you to break free and release your inhibitions that your feel pressured by.
