This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Pitt chapter.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, but if you’re not a big fan of thanksgiving food (like me), this may not be that exciting. Instead, you can look forward to all the yummy dessert that comes after dinner! Here are some unique dessert recipes for turkey day other than the classic pumpkin and apple pie.

1. Apple Pie Bites

These apple pie bites are like having your own mini apple pie! They are super simple to make and don’t require the commitment of making a whole pie. You can find the recipe here

2. Pumpkin Snickerdoodles

You can’t go about Thanksgiving without having any pumpkin dessert. So why not combine pumpkin with the already yummy snickerdoodle cookie? You can find the recipe here

3. Fall Leaves Rice Krispies Treats

Here’s a Thanksgiving twist on those Rice Krispies treats we all loved as kids. All you need to do differently is dye the mixture with food coloring and use a cookie cutter to cut the treats into leaves. You can find the full recipe here

4. Caramel Apple Mini Cheesecakes

Mini anything is so cute, and these caramel apple cheesecakes are no exception! This dessert combines two delicious desserts: caramel apples and cheesecake. You can find the recipe here.

5. Pumpkin Spice Marshmallow Cookies

If you can’t quite part with the fall delicacy of pumpkin spice yet, this dessert is for you! These cookies look complicated, but are actually quite simple. Here’s the recipe

6. Turkey Cookies

Of course you have to make one of your desserts look like a turkey, right? Taking a sugar cookie, or any cookie really, decorate it to look like a turkey using frosting, sprinkles, and candy corn. You can let your creative mind go wild on this one or follow the specific recipe here. This would also be a fun activity to do with your friends for Friendsgiving!

7. Apple Fritter Monkey Bread

This ooey-gooey pull-apart dessert is sure to be a crowd favorite. Follow this recipe for a unique apple and cinnamon take on the classic monkey bread.

8. Mini Pumpkin Pies

Going along with the whole “mini” theme, these pumpkin pie pops are perfect for eating a little pumpkin pie without all the mess. You can follow the recipe here

9. Chocolate Turtle Apple Slices

For a slightly healthier dessert, try these chocolate covered apple slices. You can drizzle caramel and nuts on top, or any other toppings you like. The recipe can be found here. This is also a fun activity to do with friends for Friendsgiving where everyone decorates their own apple slices!

10. Pumpkin Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting

For one last pumpkin recipe, try these pumpkin cupcakes. They go best with cream cheese frosting, but if you’re not a big fan, you can use any icing you like. Here’s the recipe

I hope you found some unique Thanksgiving-themed desserts that you can make for your friends and family this Thanksgiving!
