Well, this turned into a disaster.
After her husband, Jay Cutler was harassed on social media because his wife posted an “unflattering” picture, Kristen Cavallari has stepped into defend him.
From her Instagram: “And since Jay looked like a 300lb lesbian in my last post…”
Many have viewed those comments are rude and insensitive. Cutler was apparently called those things in the comments on the picture. but that didn’t mean that she needed to repeat them. Two wrongs don’t make a right. What the commenters said about him was wrong and hurtful but what Cavallari said back was also wrong and hurtful.
I feel like if the situation was reversed, there wouldn’t have been this much backlash. If there was an unflattering picture of her out there, he would have let it go or deleted it. I don’t think he would have defended her. If he would have, I think the comments would have been more along the lines of “leave my wife alone”. People would have gone on to leave her alone and it would have been the end of the story.
I honestly don’t think she meant anything by her comments other than trying to make a joke about the situation. Nonetheless, she needs to apologize to everyone involved, including her husband. All publicity isn’t necessarily good publicity.
