In case someone hasn’t told you today, I am proud of you.

I am proud of you for not giving up.

I am proud of you for doing your best.

I am proud of you for making the people around you feel warm, welcome, and safe.

I am proud of you for setting goals.

I am proud of you for achieving your goals.

I am proud of you for going to class.

I am proud of you for finding yourself.

I am proud of you for speaking your mind.

I am proud of you for lifting others up

I am proud of you for pushing yourself through your struggles.

I am proud of you for trying your hardest.

I am proud of you for smiling through your losses.

I am proud of you for dreaming.

I am proud of you for making others smile.

I am proud of you for taking risks.

I am proud of you for overcoming so much.

I am proud of you for living.

But most of all,

I am proud of you for being you.

There are so many people that I am proud of, the list seems to go on and on. To me, being proud of someone isn’t just a fleeting thing. It’s a feeling that never seems to go away. It starts in your core and builds its way out. Being proud of someone is watching their smile widen, or fall, and knowing they did their absolute best. It’s that feeling you get when you hug someone who has had their best, or worst, day. It’s the words leaving your mouth, or the tears running down your cheeks. It’s a repeated phrase. I am so proud. I am so proud. I am so proud.

So, in case someone hasn’t told you today, I am proud of you.
