10 Thoughts UConn Students Have on Windy Days

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

As UConn students, we are constantly battling the fiercest of rivals, whether it be on or off the basketball court. One of the hardest fights we face is the rival we have yet to beat: the wind. Here are some struggles many UConn students face on a normal, windy day in Storrs:

1.  Why does it sound like an animal is aggressively moaning outside my window, and why did it decide to wake me up at four in the morning?

 2.  I really don’t want to go outside and deal with this.

3.  Should I risk wearing my hair down or should I just accept the fact that it will be ruined, and throw it up in a bun?

4.  Why did UConn design the school after a school in Texas when we have more than one season up here? I do not need a cool breeze when it’s 25 degrees out, but thanks for giving me one anyway.

5.  Who invented lip gloss and were they aware that wind exists? Better yet, why did I decide to wear lip gloss today?

6.  Oh great, now all my hair is stuck to my lips and I look like I magically grew a full beard overnight.

7.  Why do I feel like I suddenly entered into a fist fight with the wind? Why am I definitely losing? Am I going to fall over? Maybe.

8.  Mother Nature should have to decide whether she wants wind or rain because I did not sign up to live in a hurricane.

9.  Will my TA accept the excuse that the wind blew my homework away?

10.  Thanks Susan.
