10 Tips You Need to Stay Motivated to Reach the End of the Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapman chapter.

Folks, we’ve made it – exactly half way through the semester. With half the battle in front of us and half behind, I think it’s time we regrouped and figure out exactly how we’re going to make it to, dare I say it, summer break.

1. Get good grades.

I know, probably not what you want to hear, but if you keep killing it in the classroom, it will make the semester go by just that much quicker. I promise.

2. Plan something fun to do over the summer.

Having something to look forward to like a trip with your friends, or your dream internships will make the late-night cram sessions worth it.

3. Treat yo self.

Nothing says motivation quite like a manicure or hitting up the Urban Outfitters sale.

4. Set goals and strive for them!

That stats class that is kicking your butt? Or how about the GE that you thought would be easy but is actually more work than you thought possible? Aim for A’s in both… or at least a B. Set goals that you can work toward until the end of the semester so you have something to measure your success at the end of May.

5. Organize your life.

As I’m sure everyone is aware, life can get hectic and staying organized can get put on the back burner. Take this time to rediscover your planner and get your life together.

6. Enjoy the warmer weather.

Although I can’t speak for the entire country, late-March/early-April usually means the snow stops and temperature above 30 degrees start to join us. So enjoy it because it means summer is finally coming.

7. Stay involved.

Getting involved in organizations on campus is usually emphasized during the beginning of the year, but this time of the semester is perfect for maintaining a good standing in everything that you’re involved in, whether it’s a sorority, job or club.

8. Make exciting plans for next year!

Figuring out what classes you’re going to take next year and who you’re going to live with can not only be exciting but also a good way to stay focused and keep you mind set on your goals.

9. Think back to last semester…

I’m sure it feels like ages ago, but remember when you didn’t think you would make it last semester and guess what? YOU DID! Remember that when you start to feel like that in a few weeks.

10. Remember that you’ll never get this semester back, so have fun while you can!

As long-lasting as college may seem, it won’t last forever. Remember that and try your hardest to bask with relish in the stress and enjoyment that comes along with being a college student.
