6 Reasons Why It Is Still Worth Going To The Movies

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at FSU chapter.

The movies are getting overrated with new technology constantly developing. Now people are able to stream their movies on their own computers and use bootlegged sites were they could watch movies. This deprives the movie industry since now people are staying at home because it is more convenient for them. However, here are 6 reasons why buying a movie ticket is still worth it (besides the amazing popcorn, candy and nachos).

1. Focus

In the movies you can focus more because there are no distractions around since you cannot have your phone turned on and people are not talking. You are just sitting in the chair with some snacks. At home, however, there are too many things. Some of these things could be having a roommate or family member that talks too loud in the house and could distract you. Also, there are things such as computers, phones, pets and even getting a snack in the kitchen.

2. It’s on a big screen

With a big screen you get pulled away with the sound and you feel as if you’re inside the movie, it is nothing like sitting on a couch at home. The movie won’t feel as intense like on a big screen or as exciting. Also, with the big screen you can see more things happening in the movie than watching it on a small screen TV.

3. You get to see previews

Most movies at home people skip the previews but in the movie theater you are forced to see the previews. The previews serve to remind you of all the other great movies out there that are going to show and to remind the audience to go see it.

4. The food

There’s nothing like movie theater food! Even though the food at your house is great and you can make anything you want, nothing beats movie theater candy. It just tastes better in the theater, there’s something about it that makes it taste 10 times better inside the theater. The food is also already made for you.

5. Soft chairs

The chairs in the theater are very comfy, some of them even look like beds. For sitting long periods of time in the movie theater, the chairs are very soft and it does not make your butt hurt. Some of the chairs even come with a recliner.

6. Being away from everyone

Sometimes some alone time away from family and friends could be good. Also, watching a film in a peaceful setting with one hearing screams from anyone is such a relaxing way to enjoy a film and just being away from society and focusing on yourself and the film.
