Fitspiration for Bikini Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UC Berkeley chapter.

I have a love-hate relationship with social media. Like a lot of women out there, especially in our collegiate years, we are constantly molding ourselves and reworking ourselves whether that be in figuring out our academic pursuits or personal style. It’s undeniable that social media plays a huge role in the way most of us live our lives and almost unbearable to think that on occasion, the men in our lives may be comparing us to those #belfie fit chicks on Instagram.

But then again, I believe that all social media figures are influencers; that’s essentially their jobーto influence. Whatever it may be that they are subconsciously or consciously endorsing, it is our jobs to be the filter of what we want to let it. That being said, I do feel like social media can be such an amazing space for being inspired.

Since summer is around the corner, it may not be a bad idea to start working on fitness goals and here are just a few people who have worked hard to be where they are.

  1. Nikki Blackletter

As a youtube figure, she has been on the fitness scene for many years and has more than 100 videos full of workouts. She’s finally launched her own brand line under Gymshark so many congrats to her!

2. Elizabeth Zaks

She’s the realest girl who’s not afraid to speak her mind about products and her progress from the last two years is amazing. Check out her instagram @elizabethzaks and her Youtube channel as well for booty inspiration.

3. Stephanie Moir

If you’re a vegan, this is the girl for you. Not only is she a sponsered fitness model, many of her videos revolve around her vegan meals and she’s proof that vegans can most definitely have gains as well!

Go find your own inspiration!

UC Berkeley '19

As a senior undergraduate, I seek out all opportunities that expand my horizons, with the aim of developing professionally and deepening my vision of how I can positively impact the world around me. While most of my career aims revolve around healthcare and medicine, I enjoy producing content that is informative, engaging, and motivating.  In the past few years, I have immersed myself in the health field through working at a private surgical clinic, refining my skills as a research assistant in both wet-lab and clinical settings, shadowing surgeons in a hospital abroad, serving different communities with health-oriented nonprofits, and currently, exploring the pharmaceutical industry through an internship in clinical operations.  Career goals aside, I place my whole mind and soul in everything that I pursue whether that be interacting with patients in hospice, consistently improving in fitness PR’s, tutoring children in piano, or engaging my creativity through the arts. Given all the individuals that I have yet to learn from and all the opportunities that I have yet to encounter in this journey, I recognize that I have much room and capacity for growth. Her Campus is a platform that challenges me to consistently engage with my community and to simultaneously cultivate self-expression.
