This Teen’s Nails Are Naturally 6 Inches Long

German teenager Simone Christina has been growing her nails for three years straight, and now they’re six inches long. As such, she was recently named 2016’s Most Voted Hand Model of the Year and the winner of Nailslong.com. I am shook!

Speaking of some of the realities of living with such long nails, Simone told Cosmopolitan, “I always know it’s time to wash my hair when I scratch my head and get a load of dry shampoo residue stuck under my nails. Grim but true.”

Grim is an understatement, but I can’t say I blame her for using dry shampoo regularly. She probably hates washing her hair. Ugh, I have so many questions.

To keep her nails long and healthy, Simone follows a strict nail upkeep routine. “I use two coats of nail hardener,” she says. “For the first coat I use XXL Nail Thickener by Essence [$2.79] and for the second coat I use Ultra Strong Nail Hardener [$2.50] also by Essence. It’s also helpful to apply cuticle oil, like, every second day.”

One thing is for sure, Simone beats all the Disney villain characters in the long nails game, as Cosmo points out. If you thought Maleficent won the badass nail contest, you are wrong!

Keeping her nails this long is definitely a struggle. Simone says that her hands really hurt after an hour of writing and adds, “On the computer, I have to type using my knuckles.”

She also can’t participate in PE. “Luckily, German schools don’t have dress codes, so they don’t cause any issues there,” Simone says. “PE is a huge problem, though. I can’t play volleyball, basketball or anything similar. My PE teachers are always trying to convince me to cut my nails. They’ll never succeed in convincing me—but that makes my grades in PE really bad.”

Her toenails, though not as long, are also getting there.

Obviously Simone can choose to do what she wants with her own nails, but I mean is it really worth it?
