Homecoming Week is upon us! From October 2 through October 7, students at the University of Tennessee at Martin will experience 2017’s Homecoming week! This week is filled with numerous opportunities to get involved on campus, as well as within the community.

Here is an explanation of the events upcoming this week! GET EXCITED!

 

Monday

Rope Pull begins – Location behind Student Rec Complex

If you are not from Martin or familiar with UTM’s Homecoming Week, you probably have no idea what Rope Pull is. Basically, rope pull is an event in which teams compete in extreme tug of war. If you have a minute, look it up on Youtube!

 

Tuesday

Rope Pull continues

7 pm: Lip Sync Competition – Location at Northwest Corner Elam Center

Lip Sync is a competition between sororities and fraternities in which students choreograph routines while lip syncing songs!

 

Wednesday

Rope Pull continues

10 am – 6 pm: Homecoming Elections

These elections will be electronic! Be on the lookout for the link!

 

Thursday

Rope Pull continues

7 pm: PRSSA Womanless Review – Location in Watkins Auditorium

 

Friday

3:30 pm: Rope Pull Championships

6 pm-11 pm: Black Alumni Council Reception – Location is Dunagan Alumni Center

7 pm: Pyramid Competition and Pep Rally – Location is the Elam Center with a $5 entry fee.

7 pm: University Choirs Dessert Evening – Location is Fine Art Building

Pyramid is a cheerleading competition between sororities and fraternities. Come on out to the Elam Center to enjoy the fun and get pumped for the game Saturday.

 

Saturday

7:30 am: Letterwinner’s Breakfast and Hall of Fame Inductions – Location at Student Life Center

10:00 am: Chancellor’s Brunch and Alumni Awards Program – Location at Paul Meek Library

10:00 am: 1967 Football Championship Team Reunion – Location at Stadium

10:30 am: QUAD CITY OPENS

11:00 am: Football Team’s Skyhawk Walk Quad by Meek Library

2:00 pm: Football game vs. Murray State – Location at Graham Stadium

5:30 pm: Black Alumni Reception – Location at Skyhawk Fieldhouse

5:30 pm: 1967 Football Championship Reunion – Location at Dunagan Alumni Center

6:00 pm: Young Alumni Reception – Location at Dunagan Alumni Center

7:00 pm: NPHC Step Show – Location at Skyhawk Fieldhouse

7:00 pm: University Choirs Dessert Evening – Location at Fine Arts Building

Saturday is the big day. Quad City begins at 10 am. This event consists of many student organizations setting up under tents in the Quad, the area between the academic buildings. Each organization takes their own spin on the theme! Many organizations have food, games and loads of fun in welcoming the alumni to Homecoming Weekend! Quad City is also a competition between organizations! The best tent gets bragging rights, of course!

The BIG game is also on Saturday at 2 pm! Come out to support your Skyhawks as they take on our rivals to the North, Murray State! The winner of Homecoming Queen will be announced at Halftime!

 

Sunday

10:30 am: Homecoming Brunch – Location at University Center

 

Homecoming week is full of excitement and overall love for UTM! Come out to support your friends, family and fellow Skyhawks!

It will always be a great day to be a Skyhawk!
