Birkenstocks, in my opinion, are some of the best shoes out there. Being from New Hampshire, these shoes are basically a staple item for me. They have been in and out of style, receiving both appreciation and shade, but I for one support them whole-heartedly. Having received my own pair for my birthday this past July, I can definitely say that these shoes are one of my favorite possessions.
Here are just a few reasons why I think everyone should rock a pair of Birks:
First off, they are ~so good~ for your feet! I will be honest and say that they are a pain to break in for the first couple weeks. But if you do it right, then it will be totally worth it in the end. They will mold to your feet over time, give you great foot support, and become the most comfortable shoes that you own!
I know that the cold weather is upon us and you’re probably wondering, “Why would I be wearing sandals this time of year?” Well, that’s the beauty of the Birks. That’s right everyone…you get to wear socks with sandals! As controversial as this fashion choice is, it is the only way to go in the cold weather when you really want to get a year-round use out of your Birks. Somehow, socks and Birks work really well – especially if you style it right. A pair of leggings, an oversized sweater, and your socks with sandals make for a super cute, warm, and comfy outfit. Also, you can totally express yourself by wearing funky socks!
People often say that they don’t own Birkenstocks because they can’t pull them off, but I for one do not believe that. Birks come in tons of different styles, colors, and materials for you to choose from. With all of the different choices, I strongly believe that everyone can find a style that works for them. You can go fairly basic like me, with simple, brown leather, two-strap sandals, or you can get a little crazy and get a pair of polka dot, multi-strap ones!
