Snow has fallen overnight and we all wake up to a winter wonderland outside our windows. To add icing to the cake, school is canceled and takes away all your obligations for the day with it. Not sure what to do with the sudden free time? We’ve got some ideas for you!

1. Read a book or multiple books

Because we are all so busy, reading for leisure is often forgotten or we just don’t have time for it. But now, you have an entire day to be spent at home relaxing. So pick up that book you’ve been meaning to read and forget about school for a couple hours!

2. Have a movie marathon or binge watch a TV show

There’s not much better than laying in bed all day and watching TV. Binge watch that show you’ve had on your to watch list for ages or rewatch your favorite movie, you’ve got the time!

3. Make some baked goods

Who wouldn’t want a sweet treat to eat while they are relaxing on a snow day? Make cookies, muffins, a cake, scones–whatever is your favorite. Not only will it pass the time, but it will also get you something good to snack on all day!

4. Catch up on homework

This isn’t the most fun activity to do, but we’ve all gotta do it. Spend the snow day catching up on all the assignments you are behind on. If you’ve got nothing better to do, this is a productive use of your time.

5. Exercise

If you get tired of laying around, some movement could do wonders for your cabin fever. Go to the gym (if it isn’t closed) and get some exercise. You’ll feel better in more ways then one when you’re finished!

6. Clean out your closet/house

It’s never too early for a little spring cleaning. Spend the day being productive by de-cluttering your life! You’ll feel like you’ve started the year on the right foot after you give a few bags of stuff off to a charity.

7. Catch up on some sleep

Sleep in because you deserve it. Take a nap because you deserve to catch up on those zzz’s. Somehow, we all just sleep a little better when we are cuddled in bed on a snow day.

8. Have fun in the snow…. of course!

There’s no shortage of things to do in the snow. Go outside with your friends and have a snowball fight, make a snowman, or make snow angels. Enjoy this experience as it rarely snows here in Georgia!

Enjoy your snow day!
