Alright y’all, we all know what it’s like to watch a new series or movie and then feel the need to spread your new found knowledge everywhere. So that’s what I’m here to do. Bill Nye Saves the World is a new(ish) series that Netflix has produced for us that basically does exactly what the title says, help us learn how to save the world.
Not only is this show entertaining, but it’s also teaching regular people like you and me what the hell is actually going on in the world around us. It also has tons of celebrity guest stars who are just as invested in saving this beautiful planet we inhabit! Here are 3 of the main reasons that I think you should start watching this glorious Netflix Original Series.
1. It’s easy to understand
I get it, not all of us really understand what people are talking about when they say things like “genetically modified food” or “in vitro fertilization” those are so weird and complicated sounding words! But you are in luck because this show gives you just enough information about the specific episode topic so you are just as informed as Bill Nye! (okay definitely not AS informed as him, but you get the picture) You’ll finish each episode with a much better understanding of the topic and feel much more knowledgeable.
2. Covers controversial topics on a regular basis
Nobody likes to talk about climate change, vaccines or male contraceptive options but YOU KNOW WHAT. It’s time guys! These topics are not only important but a key factor in attempting to save the world! Bill Nye uses real life scenarios, and also sends out his trusted correspondents to go out into the world and see what is going on! Every episode also has “An Expert Panel” of judges who all discuss the topic of the day, each panel guest has their own ideas and personal,biases toward these topics, which is why the conversations are so interesting to watch!
3. It encourage ALL people to SAVE THE WORLD
From his excellent guest hosts, to the variety of topics discussed, Bill Nye wants EVERYONE to be included in the discussion. He encourages women to take a charge in learning about our reproductive rights, and he encourages people to go out into their communities and fight for what they want to see politically. It’s an inspirational idea that Bill Nye wants all Americans to be on board with, because we all need each other to make this world a better place!
