5 Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for Your Boyfriend

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emerson chapter.

I’m all about those corny Valentine’s Day gifts for your significant other. Whether it’s DIY gifts or something you get personalized for them, I think either or is the way to go. For me, Valentine’s Day gifts are to show your boo a little extra love. I’m sure I’m not alone when I say it can be challenging to find the perfect gift for your boyfriend. I always say it’s a lot easier for a guy to get his girlfriend gifts rather than vice versa. My hope is that my 5 suggestions for gifts will help you ladies out there who are having a hard time thinking about what to get your man.

1. Personalized M&Ms

Okay, this has to be my favorite idea for Valentine’s Day gifts. I got personalized M&M’s for my boyfriend last year and he absolutely loved them. I got individual packages that had pictures of our faces, names, and other cute sayings. I think this gift is perfect if you want to get your man chocolate, but make it a little bit more personal. There are so many options to pick from on the website. Honestly, they’re so cute that I saved a couple packages because I didn’t want to eat them!

2. Personalized teddy bear

This is for the ladies out there who want to get him a stuffed animal but don’t know if he’ll like it. I found a website where you can personalize the teddy bear’s T-shirt. You can add a picture of you two, a saying, your names, designs etc. They also have other options for stuffed animals if you don’t want to go with the traditional teddy bear. Regardless, he’ will absolutely love this gift and all the effort you put in to make it extra special.

3. Jar of Hershey Kisses

Here’s a little DIY option for you women out there who love to get crafty. This is such a simple and quick gift that anyone can make. First, you will need a mason jar and Hershey Kisses of course! Next, you can add some red or pink letter stickers to the jar that spell out “Kisses for when I’m not around.” You can really personalize this by adding cute heart stickers, pictures, both of your initials, or whatever you want!

4. Open when…letters

I think it is such a timeless and romantic gesture to write letters to your lover. First, get however many envelopes that you want. Next, on each envelope write “open when…” For example you could write “open when…you need to smile” or “open when…we are fighting” Once you have written on all of the envelopes, you can start writing your letters. I find that sometimes it’s easier to write down your feelings or convey your thoughts on paper. These letters can serve as little reminders. I know that I’m an old soul and love the thought of having cards or letters being sent to me. Forget a long text or paragraph (although those are nice to receive), and get writing!

5. Memory box

I’m all about saving concert tickets, printing out pictures, or keeping cards you have received from him. This is a perfect way to store all of the things that both you and him don’t want to lose. This is also a less cheesy gift that your man won’t mind putting out on display.
