Best Books for Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tulane chapter.

In my experience, being a college student makes it very hard to find time to do anything besides, well, be a college student. I always tell myself that I’m going to become a ~free reader~ in my spare time, and yet I tend to drop the ball. Over the upcoming spring break, I’m making it my mission to reinvent myself and open up a book, for goodness sake. Join me in the adventure and take a look at some great recommendations:

  1. The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes
  2. Sharp Objects
  3. White Noise by Don Delillo
  4. The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin
  5. The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur
  6. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
  7. Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut
  8. The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
  9. A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry
  10. The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead
  11. The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson

Tulane '20

Jenna is a junior at Tulane University studying Political Economy and International Development. In her spare time, she loves to break it down on the dance floor (no shame, ladies!), eat exhorbitant amounts of sushi, and write basically anything and everything. When she doesn't have her head in a book or a plate of mac n' cheese, you can probably find her trying to pet small animals or trying to strike up a debate #college.
