The life of a college student can often be stressful. We tend to get too caught up in school or work and do not take the time to appreciate and love the life that we live. There are so many ways to embrace the simple things we are given in life and to treasure every moment.

  • Be thankful for each day

When you wake up each morning, wake up with gratitude. Be thankful for the life you have and the chance to live another day. Do not take it for granted. Appreciate the life you have each morning. You will start your day off right and you will be much happier for the rest of the day if you wake up with gratitude and appreciation for the life you live and the things you have.

  • Acknowledge your good qualities

We spend too much time bringing ourselves down and obsessing over the qualities that we have that we do not like. We spend so much time trying to fix the things we do not like about ourselves. Instead, focus on your good qualities that you possess. Acknowledge that you have good qualities and find ways to accentuate those qualities to boost your confidence. This will move your focus on to your good qualities and make you feel more positive about yourself and take your attention away from the qualities that you do not like as much, so you are not wasting your energy on negative things.

  • Love yourself

Take care of yourself and love yourself. If you take care of your health, you will be able to embrace and love life even more. Exercise and eating healthy will make you feel better physically and mentally and will ultimately make you happier. Set aside time each week to exercise and pamper yourself. It will make you feel better and boost your confidence.

  • Appreciate nature

Go outside and go for a walk. Live in the moment and take in God’s beautiful creation. Appreciate nature around you that you take for granted daily. Go out in the evening and watch the sunset or get up early in the morning and watch the sunrise. Go for a hike on camelback mountain and appreciate the nature around you, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the scenery. We are so lucky to live so close to the Grand Canyon, which is one of God’s most magnificent creations and it is only just a few hours away, you should take advantage of that while you can.

  • Unplug

The internet and social media has taken up a ton of our time and is a big part of our everyday lives. It is something that we result to whenever possible. If we simply unplug and challenge ourselves to spend less time on the internet and social media, we will be able to focus more on our friends and family, spending more time with God, and doing things we love to do that do not involve technology. Unplugging from technology will give you the opportunity to find yourself, what you love to do and what you want to do with your life.

  • Adventure

Go out and do things you would not normally do. Gather your friends together and go on a road trip. Save some money to go on a fun trip over the summer. See the world and visit different places and learn about other cultures. Get outside of your comfort zone. Meet new people, make new friends from different places, try new foods and learn new things. College is a great time to meet new people from a lot of different places. Do not be afraid to make new friends and visit the places they are from.

  • Connect with God daily

Acknowledge him and thank him for what you have. Live your life with connection to Him and understand that He has a plan for your life. Worship him in your daily life and shine His light to others. He is the one who gave you life, so worshiping Him for giving us this life is the least thing we can do in return. Bring others to him and express your love to him in your daily life. Live in a Godly way and always think, what would Jesus do?

  • GRATEFULNESS!

Always be grateful for the things you have. A roof over your head, food on your table, and a bed to sleep in at night. Be grateful for the little things in life and the people that you have. Always cherish the small but memorable moments in life because those are the best moments in life. Show your friends and family how much you love them every chance you get and show them how grateful you are to have them in your life, because tomorrow is not guaranteed. Live in the moment and love the life you live.

Embrace the little things in life and enjoy the little moments. Appreciate the little things and show your love to your friends and family. Make God the center of your life and remember to thank him for giving you life.
