Dallas, Texas Candidate Admits to Creating a Racist Trust Fund for His Children
Vickers Cunningham, a candidate for the county commissioner in Dallas, Texas lost the endorsement of the Dallas Morning News after he admitted to creating a trust fund for his children specifying that they would only receive the money if they married someone who is, “white, Christian and the opposite sex” and…this is all kinds of yikes. Even when the former district criminal judge was confronted on the matter by the paper, he responded, “I strongly support traditional family values. If you marry a person of the opposite sex that’s Caucasian, that’s Christian, they will get a distribution.” But it’s all okay (not!!!) because the Dallas Morning News says Cunningham told them he changed his views on interracial marriage in 2010 after he set up the trust, so you know, do with that what you will.Â
As a result, the Dallas Morning News editorial board is withdrawing its recommendation of Vickers Cunningham in the GOP runoff for Dallas County Commissioners Court Precinct 2. https://t.co/IP7PBw27EF

Starbucks Will No Longer Require Customers to Make a Purchase Before Sitting in Its Stores or Using the Bathroom
On Saturday, Starbucks sent a letter to employees, officially updating its store policy to allow customers to sit in its stores and use the bathroom without making a purchase, USA Today reports. “Any person who enters our spaces, including patios, cafes and restrooms, regardless of whether they make a purchase, is considered a customer,” the letter, which is likely a response to Starbucks’ recent incident of racial profiling in Philadelphia, reportedly reads. However, employees are still encouraged to call 911 if any customer is perceived as creating any kind of imminent threat or danger.
Starbucks says customers are welcome to spend time in its stores and use the restroom, even if they don’t buy anything. But there are limits, and enforcing those limits could be tricky for employees. https://t.co/RuqE1huz0c pic.twitter.com/C1MIUiBAwX

A New Study Shows That Basically No One Is Actually Hooking Up With Their Tinder Matches
Despite it’s reputation for allowing users to easily find hookups and friends-with-benefits situations (hey, no shame!) a new study shows that you (and most of your friends) probably aren’t actually hooking up with anyone you’ve swiped right on. According to research from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, while most college students on photo-based apps like Tinder showed a desire for “short-term partners,” they weren’t actually having more sex than their peers who weren’t using the apps. The more you know.
