Summer has come to an end and the new semester is now upon us. Now, we all know how stressful college can be and how it can make us doubt ourselves sometimes, so here are seven songs to help you embrace the semester with confidence and help you remember you’re that bitch™ throughout.

1. “I’m Coming Out”, Diana Ross

This disco hit has always been a feel good song and a pride anthem, but the lyrics can be an inspiration to us all. Not only does the song invite you to show yourself off, but it’s a reminder of all you have to offer. Embrace the semester with positivity and believe in yourself. This new semester is the perfect opportunity to put your best foot forward and show the world how it’s done.

2. “La Gozadera”, Gente de Zona and Marc Anthony

College is so much more than just studying, and it is important to reach a balance between work and play, if anything, for your mental health. So, don’t forget to have fun. Go out with your friends and don’t be afraid to meet new people. College is filled with a whole world of completely different people so embrace them, learn from them, and enjoy yourself.

3. “God is a woman”, Ariana Grande

College is demanding, and maintaining your spirits high can be difficult, so, honey, don’t forget who the f*ck you are. Don’t let anyone or anything make you feel less than. You are powerful. You are strong. You are intelligent. You are beautiful. No one can take that away from you. Embrace yourself, shower yourself in courage, and make the world your bitch.

4. “We Own It”, 2 Chainz & Wiz Khalifa

People say these are the best years of your life and if I’m honest idk, but let’s assume they’re right and just live it up. It is true that right now you are the youngest you ever will be and you don’t get any do-overs, so go for it. Own the moment. Do the scary stuff. Take the internship. Go on that exchange program. Ask that person out. Don’t let anything hold you back.

5. “Staying Alive”, Bee Gees

At some point in the semester things will get hard, and you may want to give up, drop the course, and go home. Don’t. Put in the time, do the work and make your way through it. Take a breath, stand up tall, try again and give it your best shot. You can handle anything the semester will throw at you. You have made it this far, you can take on the world. So, yes, college gets hard but you can make it.

6. “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)”, Kelly Clarkson

The main purpose of college is to learn and grow, so allow yourself to do just that. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes because they will happen anyway, learn from them instead. Embrace the hardships because they won’t last forever, and you’ll end up better on the other side. Once again, show yourself and the world that you can handle whatever it throws at you because you are bigger than all of it.

7. “Tamo Bien”, Bad Bunny

All you need is one listen to this feel good song to feel a sense of relief. Let this be a reminder of the good things in your life. Once again, embrace and love yourself. Be thankful for your health, the great people around you, and the good times you’ve spent together. If anyone can do it, it’s you, no matter the hardships. So here’s to waking up content and happy because at the end of the day, ‘tamo bien.
