As a senior, I feel as though I have a few more things I need to do before I can walk across that stage come May. Here I have made a Top 10 Senior Bucket List to guarantee I don’t leave FSU with any regrets- feel free to join me on my senior adventure. *Warning*: It helps to be 21 years or older in order to successfully complete this list!

1. Recess Pool

Ah yes, the infamous “Cess Pool”. The murky body of water lies in the middle of the dance floor at a popular club called “Recess”. This club is located above College Town and you can probably see the lights shining off the rooftop like a college “bat signal”. As gross as the pool sounds, somehow it just seems so inviting as the music bumps with the beat of your heart. Everyone around you is dancing and cheering,  in these moments, nothing seems more right. I have actually already completed this bucket list item a couple of weeks ago and let me tell you, it was so fun! Be sure to cover your mouth though, because I ended up getting a cold and my friend who jumped in with me ended up getting a virus. But come on guys, it’s senior year, take some chances! Happy Jumping!Word of Caution: The lines get long, and I mean swing-around-the-block long, so make sure you don’t show up too late. To avoid this, try to get pre-banded

2. Mechanical Bull

Every Friday night at Stetson’s on the Moon, this establishment busts out the mechanical bull. Yes, you heard me right. I have been trying to complete this bucket list item for several years now, but this year it is officially time to conquer that mechanical beast. If you’re a fan of drama and making a scene in front of a crowd of cheering strangers, this bucket list item is for you. So, saddle-up, grab those country boots, and I’ll see ya’ll there. Yee-haw!

3. Line Dancing

Alright so Stetson’s doesn’t just have a mechanical bull, they also have line dancing! I am not sure why I have always wanted to do this, but I think it has something to do with the Hannah Montana Movie… “Pop it, lock it, polk-a-dot it, countrify it, hip-hop it”. I guess a part of me has always wanted to Hoedown Throwdown like my girl Hannah. Also, I am from Georgia, so I feel like maybe this desire for southern line-dancing is just in my blood. Embrace the country ya’ll.

4. Bullwinkle’s

Bullwinkle’s, AKA “Bulls”, one of the oldest bars in Tallahassee,  claims to be “the best damn bar in town”. This bar has been open since 1979, so maybe you can sit down hand have a drink with the some of the local Alumni. This is a bucket list item where you need to be 21. They are known for producing genius deals like “$15 Bottomless Buffet featuring Top-Shelf Liquor” and “Moose Card Members Receive Free Cover”. This old-style bar offers great Tallahassee views where you have the choice to people-watch from the grass skirt covered Tiki Bar on the second level or you can party with DJ on the first level. Bottoms up!

5. Poor Paul’s Free Pizza

Unfortunately for all you youngins, this is another bucket list item that you have to be 21-and-up for. This bar has been around just a tad bit longer than Bull’s, it was established in 1976. A lot of college kids call it a bar, but I know all of the locals refer to it as a landmark. This place is great, not just for the rustic and fun atmosphere, but for the deals that have every college student drooling. The nights I really want to go are on Mondays and Sundays. On these two days they offer FREE Gumby’s Pizza with $4.95 Pitchers. (I swear this isn’t a sponsored ad, I just want you to be able to enjoy a budget-friendly college life, ok? Can ya blame a girl?). So, make sure to show up hungry and be ready to play some darts and pool!

6. Madso Drinking Challenge

Madison Social, a local Tallahassee bar, hosts a drinking challenge for all of you 21-and-uppers. Each month you can go to this establishment and acquire a drinking punch card with an array of drinks on it that are specific to that month. Once you have had every drink on that card (side warning: you do not have to consume 6+ drinks in one-sitting. Recall that it is a Monthly Challenge, you have a month to finish all the drinks) you can get a t-shirt each month, a different design for every month you participate in. You can get a sneak-peek of each month’s shirt on their Instagram, where you can then decide if you want to participate in that month’s challenge. Drink responsibly!

7. Food Truck Thursday

At a cute park here called Lake Ella hosts Food Truck Thursday, you guessed it, every Thursday. I am honestly surprised I have never attended because, come on, every Thursday? Now that’s just me being lazy. Every Thursday, seven of your favorite food trucks line up in the park from 6-9 behind the Cottages where you can listen to live music, shop at the little stores, and just enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere. Not to mention that you can bring your own lawn chair, cooler, and even a pup if you have one!

8. St. George Island Beach Trip

St. George Island is a beach that stretches it’s white sand and clear water for 22-miles. If you are looking to escape Tallahassee for just a bit, this day trip is perfect for you! The drive is about an hour-and-a-half so if you’re looking for a fun little road-trip as well then, again, this item is for you! The beaches are pet friendly so if you have a pup you want to bring, don’t hold back! And if you don’t have a dog, don’t worry, you’re likely to see many beach pups rolling around in the sand! Have a safe trip!

9. Sugar Rush Bar

Have you ever felt the desire to consume an Instagram-worthy masterpiece? Then look no further! Located near Gaines Street, Sugar Rush Bar creates the milkshakes of your dreams, and as a lactose-intolerant advocate, I can really say it is all worth it. Yes, these milkshakes truly bring all the locals to the yard. So, come buy a piece of edible artwork that you won’t regret and make sure to bring your sweet tooth!

10. Karaoke (Bird’s, Fire Betty’s, Brass Tap)

No matter how many times I complete this bucket list item, I will never cross it out because I want to do it over and over and over again! Nothing beats singing at the top of your lungs with your squad in front of a whole crowd of strangers. Every Thursday at Bird’s Oyster Shack, Karaoke starts at 9:30 and tunes don’t stop until 2 AM so make sure to come up with your vocals all warmed up. If you decide Bird’s isn’t your place, I know other bars like Fire Betty’s and the Brass Tap Beer Bar also have karaoke nights that you won’t want to miss! Come unleash your inner Beyonce and be that Dancing Queen we all know you are.

Just one eccentric gal trying to use words to tell my story and yours!
