Goat: The Mobile Sneaker Black Market, Not Tom Brady

First came Yeezy Boost, then NMD, and now Pharrell x Adidas NMD–all variations of trendy, adidas running sneakers, designed by A list celebrity artists, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams. If two of the most influential rappers were wearing them, we had to have them. Adidas, the once forgotten brand, has suddenly become the manufacturer and distributor of the most popular shoes today.

Have you never heard of Yeezys or NMDs? Do you wonder what all of the hype is about these sneakers? Well here’s the deal. Yeezys are so popular because Kanye West is not only the designer of the sell-out running sneaker, but also wears the shoes himself. Along with his equally famous spouse Kim Kardashian.

The Wests have changed the way we think about the Adidas brand, the downside of it all is that these sneakers are really expensive. And when I say expensive, I mean really expensive. Now remember, these aren’t new season Gucci, or sneakers encrusted in diamonds. These are just sneakers, made by Adidas and designed by Kanye. If you want to grab a pair they’ll run you an easy $600 bill just for the base model. Still want them? Oh you. I know you, you’re like me. You’ve got to have the trendiest shoes out there, as quickly as you can get your hands on them. Well guess what, you can’t. Unless you’re fast enough to cop a pair before they sell out on the Adidas website, or desperate enough to be willing to shell out upwards of twice the price tag from an outside dealer or on the black market.

Hate feeling pressured to spend the extra cash when you really want something? Do you dread the feeling of looking at your bank account balance after the purchase and wondering how you’ll ever explain this one to your parents or savings account? Well, today is your lucky day. Goat is here and its purpose is to bring you exclusive sold out sneakers, shipped right to your door. Think I’m lying, find it in the App Store today.

my actual bottom bar on my phone aka the important stuff

I got the app back in July when I was googling Adidas Boost sneakers, and couldn’t find any in my size or color preference for any less than $400 (the original price from Adidas is $120). I was in desperate need of these sneakers because they are not only super trendy, but they are also extremely comfortable and versatile for my everyday wear and exercise needs. I personally don’t have the extra cash to drop $400 on sneakers, because I honestly don’t really have the extra $120, however where there is a will, there’s a way. I’m no high fashion NYC model, but I do like to have an assorted wardrobe featuring a few staple pieces that I paid a little extra for, but found it was completely worth my money since I wear those things everyday. For me its shoes. Shoes can take any outfit from drab to fab, and the new Adidas sneakers on the market do just that. Only problem? I am in college. I am broke. We are all broke. But we all want to fit in and be cool. I justify my spending habits by my own determination of how often I will use a product. In this case, I wear some type of shoe everyday, so naturally, I can never have too many pairs.

Trending sneakers on the Goat App

Goat has seriously changed my life. I used to think I would never get my hands on some of the sneakers I now wear everyday. Goat is free to download on iPhone or Android, so there isn’t any risk involved in simply downloading the app. The Goat app has a sleek and simple layout, making the search and buy process super simple and stress free. Goat’s competitor, Stock X, isn’t really a competitor at all when it comes to app design due to their overcrowded layout, and overall difficult buying process. When you filter your search by size, color, condition, price, and shoe brand, you are able to find exactly what you’re looking for, without the hassle of long

tedious google searching.

Filter options on Goat

People sell new and used shoes on goat. Sellers first send the shoes to the Goat warehouse in LA,  then Goat verifies them (checks if they are real, and analyzes quality; then adds a seal of approval) and then sends them out to you! The total turnaround time is about two weeks, and shipping for the 48 US states is just $10 per order.

When I ordered my first pair from Goat, they came packaged with the Goat tissue paper wrapping, and Goat seal of verified approval.

Now I know what you’re thinking. How can this be? It must be too good to be true? Well I am here to tell you it is true. And yes, it is oh so good. Goat is a safe, secure app, where I have never felt at risk of being scammed. Goat offers a full refund if your shoes arrive differently than described on the app, because they are too good, and Goat knows it.

For all of you college students out there who may be thinking, how the hell am I going to afford these shoes? Goat gets better. If you choose to do so, Goat offers a payment plan with your choice of three, six, or 12 months worth of payments on the shoes, at a 20-30% apr.

My favorite pair of Adidas NMDs from Goat

When I discovered this genius app, I simply downloaded the app, filtered through my shoe preference options, choosing the pair I wanted, and then boom. There you have it, the rest is history. This app allows users to find everything they’re looking for all in one place, making it easy and safe to get shoes from sellers all over the world. Definitely check out Goat if you’re in the market for a new pair of sneakers, or even if you are just curious to find out how dope this app really is.
