I want to write a girl’s freckles

And the way they pattered across

Her nose and her face

And what she gained and lost

I want to write a dragon flying

How his wings stretched for miles

And how the girl needed to be rescued

So a brave boy faced the trials

I want to write how he failed

And went back to try again

Because the story is not just about love

But about will, courage, and pain

I want to write an ending

That no one would expect

Does he get the girl?

Or will his heart get wrecked?

I want to write the boy dying

Or maybe he’ll get a different fate

Maybe, he’ll help the dragon

And find him his long, lost mat

I want to write a beautiful song

That plays to the tune of the story

I want to write a horror

Or a comedy in it’s glory

I want to write a story so great

One where we all fall in love

One where the words paint pictures

One I can be proud of
