A Sex and the City Quote for Every Dating Situation

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marquette chapter.

In the realm of dating and relationships, everyone needs some guidance, that’s why I’ve compiled this list of quotes from my personal dating guru: Sex and the City. Here are some quotes to help you get through any situation:

1. “I think I have monogamy. I caught it from you people.”

For the unexpected rush of emotions that come with either a new relationship or something unlabeled. Samantha Jones is the embodiment and perfect personification of a lot of our own responses to the common, and sometimes boring, normality of monogamy.

2. “I curse the day you were born!”

For when you need an extremely dramatic line for…a number of situations. Charlotte utilized this one as an attack at her hated ex-boyfriend, but truthfully you could curse the day anyone was born: a biased professor, a catcaller, or people that take the elevator to the 2nd floor.

3. “Maybe we can be each other’s soul mates. And then we can let men be just these great, nice guys to have fun with.”

For the not so wonderful times in life when it’s important to reflect upon the importance of having strong female friends in your life. Love is an important aspect, and finding those connections can come from anywhere

4. “Do any of you have a completely unremarkable friend or maybe a houseplant I could go to dinner with on Saturday night?”

For when you’re desperate for that date to the wedding…or any date for that matter. Luckily, we know our girlfriends always have our backs and that a sense of humor and good friends are truly all you need.

5. “Being single used to mean that nobody wanted you. Now it means you’re pretty sexy and you’re taking your time deciding how you want your life to be and who you want to spend it with”

For when you or a friend forget just how awesome you are and how irrelevant relationship statuses are, truly.
