5 Best Queen Songs to Listen to on the Way to see Bohemian Rhapsody Next Weekend

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Seton Hall chapter.

Everyone has a favorite Queen song- their track record has an irrevocably original and iconic sound that echoes through the ages. Whether your favorite makes you nostalgic or just all around happy, here are a few reminders of how well-deserved this biopic is and of those early fall pre-little league game car rides.

1. Bohemian Rhapsody

Honestly, are you even surprised that this was number one? It’s the title of their movie! 11/10 bop-ability.

2. We are the Champions

Another fan favorite tops this list. This song will etch the word “victory” into your soul and lift you and your fellow movie-goers’ moods into the sky. There’s a reason it’s been used in almost every sports movie montage imaginable, people!

3. Another One Bites the Dust

Another One Bites the Dust makes you feel like a recently widow whose husband died under mysterious circumstances. It’s irrevocable sense of superiority is the perfect pick me up before watching a movie about one of the most iconic bands in modern history. You can still see your dad dancing awkwardly in the driver’s seat as you drive to the playoff game.

4. We Will Rock You

If the common thread weren’t already obvious, We Will Rock You is another iconic anthem for sports movie montages and little league soccer game victories. Its lyrics are simple, but incredibly effective. You can still feel the rhythm of the bleachers at your high school pep rally underneath your feet.

5. Don’t Stop Me Now

If you can think of a song and immediately wag your fingers to the beat (Don’t. Stop. Me Now….) it deserves a spot on this list. I can still hear my little sister screaming, “’cause I’m havin’ a good time,” at the top of her lungs and I feel like I’m in fourth grade again.

Queen is the voice of our generation, not to be too dramatic about it. If you can look up a band’s discography and recognize almost the entire page, they’re doing something right.

In summary, go see Bohemian Rhapsody in theaters on November 2 and support the legacy of this amazing band and the incredible creative spirit of Freddie Mercury.
