This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cornell chapter.

The holidays are the perfect time for generosity. Though there are many ways to be generous, one tax-deductible and simple way to spread cheer is to donate to charity. Below is a list of amazing charities that are doing great work across the world.

1. The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy is an international organization with the goal to “conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends.” They focus on tackling climate change, protecting land and water, providing food sustainability and building healthy cities.

2. Planned Parenthood Federation of America

3. Food for the Poor

Food for the Poor is a nonprofit Christian organization based out of Florida that helps supply basic necessities (food, medicine, shelter, etc) to those in need in the Caribbean and Latin America. Their goal is to improve communities’ access to food, housing and emergency relief.

4. YMCA of the USA

6. Flint Kids Fund

These organizations are doing amazing things and could benefit greatly from a donation of any size. If you can’t afford to give money this holiday season, you can always volunteer as well. Donating time is just as beneficial as donating money.

Happy holidays!
