With Christmas in few weeks, everyone is asking people for their wishlists. The older we get, the harder it can become to compose a wishlist because most of the time, we are able to buy the things we want for ourselves. But when it comes too soon-to-be graduates, the list may become a little more practical.

Here a some ideas to give your recent grad:

1. Smartwatch: These are becoming increasingly popular and for good reasons! Most of the watches on the market allows the wearer to track their fitness goals, receive notifications from their smartphone instantaneously, control music, and of course, tell time! To determine what smartwatch your graduate may want, ask them what they prefer: the Apple Watch appears to be the most popular, but some people have Android devices *cough-me-cough,* so that may not be a good option for them. Amazon is a good website to also get ideas for the many different smartwatches that are out there on the market.

2. Kitchenaid Stand Mixer: If your graduate is moving into an apartment or house, this is a great gift for them! This mixer doesn’t have to be just for baking because there are many different attachments that can be switched out; for example, one of my cousins wants the spiralizer attachment. These also come in a variety of styles and colors to choose from. Bonus: they last for a really long time!

3. Keurig: If your graduate doesn’t already have one of these machines, this is also a good idea! This machine makes it super easy to make a cup of coffeeand it will help your new graduate save money! I love my Keurig (which I received as a high school graduation gift) and I get my coffee pods at a bulk store, such as Costco or Sam’s Club, to save even more money. These machines comes in different colors, size, and styles. There are also many different brands of single-serve coffee makers, but Keurig can be argued as the most popular.

4. Instant Pot or Crockpot (Slow Cooker): This is another perfect gift if your grad is moving to their own place. Gone are the days of going to the cafe or getting something quick on campus. With one of these machines, it’s easy to make meals that can cook during the day or just in a few hours! And usually these recipes call for large amounts of food, so there will definitely be leftovers for lunch the next day!

5. Tablet: At Winona State, we are lucky to have the option to buy-out our laptop when we graduate so we have something to take to our new job. But sometimes, you may want something a little smaller. A tablet is nice because it’s small enough that it can fit into a work bag, but it has the power and capability of a laptop. There are many different tablets out there, and some people are more picky about the one they wantthis is another idea that you want to ask your grad about their personal preferences.

Any of these gifts will surely make your grad thankful and ready to do this thing called “adulting”!
