‘Tis the season to spend more money than you have! Am I right, ladies? Honestly, everyone has to struggle with what to get their parents, siblings and friends for Christmas. If you’re anything like me, you have way too many people on your list. That’s why me and my friends came up with the perfect solution to not only save money & get a special gift, but to also celebrate with all of your friends!
1. Gift Exchange
Instead of buying gifts for every friend on your list, set up a gift exchange! Set a price limit that suits everyone and make sure nobody goes over or under. I even looked up some fun games to play to mix up the presents!
2. White Elephant
If you & your friends are jokesters like mine, a white elephant would be perfect! Pick a silly item laying around your house that you no longer need, wrap it, and bring it. It’s a hilarious way to spread Christmas cheer and save money!
3. Secret Santa
I mean, come on, who doesn’t love Secret Santa? If you and your friends have a little more time on your hands, set up a Secret Santa! It’s a fun way to get to know each other even better. Set up a price limit & have your friends fill out a sheet of paper with things that they love, like their favorite cookie or drink, and you’ll have the perfect party!
4. Crafting or Cooking Party
Instead of buying gifts, you and your friends could do crafts instead! You could make gingerbread houses and have contests or you could even just spend the day making a bunch of delicious holiday treats with your besties!
5. The Themed Exchange
If you and your friends are up for a challenge, try a themed exchange! Set a price limit & a theme and you’re good to go. For example, you could do a “Made in America” theme where you can only buy things made in the states or a “Anything Yellow” theme where everything you buy has to be that color!
6. The Gift Auction
Another interesting idea to spice up your holiday party: a gift auction! Set a price limit and have your friends bring their gifts unwrapped. Then give everyone the same amount of Monopoly money. Each person goes up to the front of their room and auctions off their gift to the highest bidder!
The Holidays can get pricey, but with these party ideas in mind, you’re sure to save some cash & have a blast!
