Galentine’s Day is a fairly new concept that was first introduced to us by Leslie Knopp, from Parks and Rec. It is the idea that you celebrate with your closest girls and have the ultimate girls night in. This year for some reason it seems that all of my group is either single or in a ‘it’s complicated’ phase, which means we will most definitely be doing a group girls night. In preparation for that I have assembled a list of suggestions ranging from foods to movies and everything in-between! So pick and choose which items you want to do or use and have a night full of laughter and love.

Snacks:

Given that it is a night in this is a time to truly celebrate all the things that your girl group loves. So go ahead and splurge a little on whatever makes your heart happy, from pizza to sushi. I always love to use my ‘nice’ dishes too in an effort to make the night feel even more special. So why not put the pizza when it arrives on a cakestand and layout your prettiest plates for takeout. This is a night for you to feel special, alternatively use some pretty paper plates so that clean up is easier than ever!

Of course you can’t forget to have dessert during the night either! So why not bake up a treat as a group and have fun decorating with sprinkles and frosting. Box mixes can taste just as good as homemade if you sub in milk for the water and butter for the oil!

Self-care:

Put on your comfiest outfits and whip out the face masks that you have been saving for a rainy day! I personally love the Tony Moly face masks if you are in the market for sheet masks, they have a variety of different scents plus they come in the cutest packaging. If fresh face masks are more your thing then set up your own beauty bar in the kitchen using left-over ingredients and go crazy with all your Pinterest DIYs.

Remember that laughter and love is what this is all about so take silly photos and try things you’ve never done before. This night is all about you and your girls getting to relax and be pampered.

Movies:

Tis the season for over the top rom-coms and sappy movies, that I could probably repeat verbatim. A few of my favorite cult classics include Clueless, Legally Blonde, 13 Going On 30, Definitely Maybe, Love Actually, When Harry Met Sally, Pretty Woman, Sweet Home Alabama, and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. If rom-coms aren’t your thing then go crazy binge watching whatever genre is!

Enjoy this night with your girls and remember that you don’t have to wait till a holiday like this to enjoy yourself and let loose!
