On a Budget? Here’s Your New Go- To Everday Makeup Routine

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

Makeup can be super fun to do, personally it is my favorite part of my morning routine, along with picking out an outfit. However, makeup can be expensive. These are my favorite drugstore beauty products I use in my everyday makeup routine.

First, I always start off with washing my face. My current two favorite face washes I am using are the Clean and Clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser and the Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser. I usually switch between two because I do not want my face to get used to the face wash and not work anymore. Clean and Clear has always been a go to and Biore is a new favorite. Then, I always make sure to moisturize. The Biore Face wash can be found at Target for $5.99 at Target and the Clean and Clear Wash can be found for $4.99 at Target.

Next, I start with the Maybelline Brightening Creamy Concealer to use under my eyes and in the corner of my eyes. This is the best drugstore concealer I found to cover up my under eye circles my studying too late. You can find it at Target for $5.99.

Next with a large powder brush I go over my face Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. This has been my favorite powder for a couple of years, just to even out of skin and to keep my face from getting oily from out the day. It really keeps everything looking polished. I usually do not put foundation on, I feel like this powder does the trick. This powder can be found for $3.99 at Target.

Then, I use a blush brush and apply Milani Baked Blush in Dolce Pink. This has been my favorite blush for awhile. The color and shine it gives stays on throughout the day. Sometimes, I feel like powder blushes wear off throughout the day. I also feel like it removes a step because it has a lot of sparkle to it, so you probably do not have to put highlighter on top. This can be found on the Milani website for $7.99.

If I do not have a lot of time, my face makeup usually end there. However, if  I do have time, I will add bronzer. The NYX Matte Bronzer, is pretty inexpensive for a bronzer at $5.99. Again, it lasts all day and an easy one to blend.

Next, to start the eyes I usually do just eyeliner and mascara. I typically just brush out my brows. The eyeliner I have been using recently is the Revlon Colorstay liquid eyeliner in the color Blackest Black. It lasts all day and does not smudge. It is also easy to apply to make both eyes have the perfect cat eye. This can be found at Ulta for $8.49.

I love mascara and I am always try out new ones. However, my holy grail mascara is Rimmel Lash Accelerator in Blackest Black. It is great for making your eyelashes look longer and it is not clumpy. Another recent favorite is the Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama in Blackest Black. This one adds a lot of volume, again without being clumpy. The Rimmel mascara can be found at Target for $7.99 and the Maybelline mascara can be found for $6.99 at Target.

Lastly, for lips I love using Burt’s Bee as a chapstick. If  I am feeling lipstick, a recent go to favorite has been the Maybelline Color Sensational in #20 Pink and Proper. Burt’s Bees chapstick can typically be found for $3.29 at Target and the Maybelline lipstick can be found for $6.50 at Target.

Here is this finished look! Hope this was a helpful affordable makeup routine!
