The Tool you Need to Level up your Productivity

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MNSU chapter.

Whether you are a Google calendar fene, a ‘list’ gal, your reminders in your phone are a mess, or your sticky note trick just isn’t working for you anymore- you need to hear about this life organizer that will absolutely change the game. Trello is a website that organizes lists, projects, contacts, events, collaborations and will help you keep track of everything you could possibly image. They also have an app for iOS and Android (hello, convenience!) because let’s be real, desktop websites aren’t that accessible anymore. Trello can help you organize spreadsheets in an easy-to-view and alter-list format, plan your next vacation down to the minute or collaborate with coworkers on the next big project.

There are millions of features that Trello offers, but for starter we’ll look at the basic offers. Personally, my busy days are kept afloat with a slew of tabs in my ‘reminders’ app, cluttered calendar squares in a tattered planner and the hope that I won’t forget an important deadline. Trello erases all of those messy variables, and keeps all of your lists and priorities in one simple place- and each board you create can have it’s own personal look. You can prioritize items into categories as well such as ‘In Progress’, ‘Completed’, or simplify which aspect of life the item falls under.

A work/life balance can be hard to achieve, and whether you are putting away at your first internship and trying to stay organized while managing school work and extra curriculars, or a full time boss babe who needs to plan out how she’s going to fit in a yoga class after appointments and work this week, Trello has got a feature perfect or ‘Power-Up’ for you. Once you create your boards, you can turn assignments into ‘cards’ that when expanded, have details to keep everyone in the loop on important facets of the item. You can search through all your boards to easily access and relocate items, instantly import documents or lists from sheets, mark things as done or in progress and create email address specifically for each item. You can even star boards to access your top pressing priorities even quicker. Search through all your boards, cards or lists with a ton of easy to use shortcuts, too!

Trello allows you to share your boards and view what others are working on, so your next project at work can be extra satisfying to check off piece by piece because you know your manager can see how much progress you are making in a list like play-by-play! Even if you aren’t a worker bee quite yet, you can still stay organized and have fun with it! Trello is equipped with animations and gifs just like any worthy modern technology. So before you go and stress about all you have to get done this week, let Trello save the day and your sanity!
