For years now I have been debating getting highlights in my hair. It was very much a thing that I noticed that each year, seniors at my high school would dye their hair and make drastic changes to their look. I always thought by senior year of high school I would have done the same. The truth is my parents used to be very opposed to be dying my hair simply because they think it will forever damage my hair.

Over winter break however, I was watching Mamma Mia 2,  and I said to my mom that I wanted to dye my hair like Lily James. To my surprise she said lets do it. Now that I have the actual opportunity to do it, I’ve found myself more hesitant to actually go through with it. There are so many cases where the highlights do not look good and once you do it there is no going back. Also the price to keep doing it is very expensive, and I am not sure it is what I want to be spending my money on. I am also genuinely terrifies that it will forever ruin my hair.

There are so many people that get it done, however, and it look amazing. My best friend recently started doing highlights and she looks bomb. Her hair also still looks very healthy, which makes me think I should just take the plunge and try it. You never know if you don’t try right. So, I have decided to do research and think long and hard about it for the rest of the semester and then decide this summer!
