There is a lot of effort that goes into preparing to spend the night out with your significant other or your long-time crush. It is hard choosing between where to go and what to wear, what outfit in your cupboard screams cute yet sexy, choosing a pair of shoes that supports your choice of pulling an all-nighter and a hairdo that is durable and does not alter with the first sign of sweat.

The very last thing you need to worry about is what to pack in your planned or unplanned overnight ‘visit’. Here is a list of essentials to slaying that overnight visit and looking like a goddamn queen the next morning:

Condoms

I mean… even if you want to keep the sleepover to PG13, I say rather always be safe. You never want to put yourself or your partner in a situation where desire takes over and your future and health are at risk. Condomize!

Toothbrush and toothpaste

This is super important. No one, I mean no one, wants to wake up next to someone with old whiskey and late-night McDonalds on their breath. I recommend brushing your teeth before bed to help reduce the risk of morning breath.

Makeup wipes/remover

After coming home after a night out, the last thing you are thinking about is washing your makeup off. But trust me it should be a priority on your to-do list. Waking up with smeared mascara and patches of makeup on your forehead and chin is not sexy on anyone. Wash that face, honey. It is also a great skincare benefit because sleeping with makeup on ages your skin rapidly.

Sanitary pads

Need I say more?

Shampoo and conditioner

Maybe you wake up and decide you want to take a shower if you are in no rush to leave. Bring along your favourite shampoo and conditioner to avoid using whatever products are in their shower that might not gel with your type of hair.

Hairbrush

Brush those knots out, girl!

Deodorant or perfume

Just because you might be indulging on junk food and alcohol, doesn’t mean you have to smell like it the next day!

Any medication you use

It is also useful to pack tablets for fever, headaches and pain.

Lip balm

Cracked-lip kisses are a big no!

Mini makeup kit

It is always cool to keep the basics with you. You might get the urge to do your makeup the next morning. Maybe you guys decide to grab a bite to eat and you feel more comfortable with makeup on? I recommend packing in BB cream or your chosen base colour, mascara, your eyebrow kit to fill in those bad boys and some blush to warm up your cheeks.

Fresh underwear

Pack in your sexiest pair of undies to wear that night or the next morning. It does not matter if your significant other sees it or not, it will make you feel sexy and empowered, especially if you are feeling nervous about the night.

Emergency cash

This is a NECESSITY. You never want to be stuck somewhere and have no way of getting home. Always pack in extra cash or your card into your bag so you are always protected no matter what. Safety first.

Cellphone charger

Can you imagine trying to call your parents or an Uber to fetch you and your phone dies? Prevent any potential disasters from happening by packing in your very own charger.

Clean socks

In case your feet get cold!

A light jacket

For those chilly date nights.

Go forth and stay safe!
