To the class of 2023, my odd babies, welcome to the family. As you start your first year of college, curious and full of wonder, I’m starting my junior year wondering where the hell the time went, but at the same time, more than ready to take you under my wing.

Everyone who knows me knows that the traditions on the Wells College campus mean the world to me, especially oddline. Two years ago I was in your shoes. I came into my first year of college feeling pretty lost, as many of you may be feeling right now, but found my place in the colors of purple and gold. My coaches and my teammates were my saving grace, and continue to be.  It’s more than a sing-off. It’s more than a basketball game. It’s the love and support of the sisterhood that stands 121 years strong. It’s the family I found within the oddline team. It’s the sense of belonging that I’ve never quite felt before. We’re more than a team, we’re a family. We experience everything together. We hurt together. We laugh together. We cry together. We grow together. It’s the team that saved me.

Coming in as a freshman, I didn’t know how much this tradition would mean to me. I didn’t know the friendships it would give me. I didn’t expect to light up every time I met an oddliner alum. I didn’t know that I would now be a coach, welcoming you into the arms of the oddline family. I can’t wait to be your song mama. Becoming a coach has been one of my greatest honors yet ( I mean… look at these happy tears). As new coaches, we can’t wait to show you unconditional love like the Odd family has shown us.
