Beachy waves are being put in buns, cardigans taken out of storage, with pumpkin spice on the horizon. Hold onto the summer just a bit longer with these easy, breezy mix drinks!

Porch Crawler

This mix drink, courtesy of Food & Wine, will be sure to keep you in summer spirits! Drink for one.

Ingredients: 2 ounces chilled club soda, 1 ounce fresh lemon juice, 1 ounce simple syrup, 1 hot chile (halved and seeded), ice, 5 cherries, 3 mint leaves, and 2 ounces of white rum.

Directions: Get out a cocktail shaker, and mix the cherries, mint leaves and chile. Next, add your ice and rum, with lemon juice and simple syrup. Shake well before staining into a glass of ice, then stir in the club soda and garnish as desired.

Classic Margarita

You can send your thanks to delish for perfecting this summertime classic. Serves 2.

Ingredients: 2 lime wedges (garnish), 1/4 cup kosher or coarse sea salt, 4 ounces of tequila, 2 ounces of triple sec, 1.5 ounces of lime juice, and ice.

Directions: Put salt on a small, shallow plate. Then rim two glasses with the lime wedge and dip in the salt to coat the rim. Divide the tequila, triple sec, and lime juice between the glasses and stir. Finish it off with ice, and garnishments.

Sweet Tea Sangria

Back at it again with more iconic drinks is delish with this sweet taste of summer! Serves 6.

Ingredients: 750 milliliters of white wine, 4 cups of sweet tea, 1/4 cup of triple sec, 2 cups of sliced frozen peaches, 2 cups of raspberries, and mint for garnish. 

Directions: Use a pitcher to combine the wine, sweet tea, triple sec, peaches and raspberries until thoroughly mixed. Chill for one hour, and add garnish.

 

Strawberry Frosé

Have the frothed drink of your life with another delish winner! Serves 4 to 6.

Ingredients: 750 millilitres of chilled rosé, 2 cups of chopped strawberries, 1/4 cup of vodka, 1/4 cup of lemon juice, and ice.

Directions: Get out the blender and combine 1/2 your rosé, 1 cup of strawberries, 1/2 of the vodka, and 1/2 of the lemon juice. Put in 2 cups of ice and stir until slushy. Add more ice and continue blending if the mixture is too watery. Repeat blender process with the remaining ingredients. Then serve promptly and garnish with strawberries.

Summer Crush Mimosas

If you really want to ace your mimosa game, then Spindrift has got a recipe for you! Serves 10.

Ingredients: 1/4 cup of sugar, orange zest, 3 – 12 ounce cans of Sprindrift Orange Mango, 750 millilitres of prosecco or champagne, a splash of Grenadine, and orange slices for garnish.

Directions: Pour Spindrift up to approximately halfway in each glass, then switch to either prosecco or champagne. Top it off with that splash of Grenadine and add the garnish.

Piña Colada

The most iconic summer drink of choice, compliments of delish. Serves 2.

Ingredients: 4 ounces of spiced rum, 4 ounces of coconut milk, 1/3 cup of fresh pineapple chunks (more for garnish), 1 cup of ice, and 2 maraschino cherries.

Directions: Put together the rum, coconut milk, ice, pineapple chunks and pineapple juice into your blender. Blend the ingredients until smooth. Pour the concoction into two glasses, and garnish with cherries.

Frozen Pineapple Mango Daiquiri

This tasty delicacy is from the wisdom of Jelly Toast. Serves 2.

Ingredients: 4 ounces of white rum, 2 ounces of lime juice, 1 cup of cubed pineapple, 1 cup of fresh/frozen mango, 1 cup of crushed ice, and pineapple wedges to garnish.

Directions: Mix ingredients in your blender until smooth. Then divide between glasses, and garnish as desired!

California Caipirinha

This homerun of a drink comes from Food & Wine. Serves 8.

Ingredients: 6 limes (cut into eighths), 2 tablespoons of turbinado sugar, 16 ounces of cachaça, 4 ounces of orange muscat, 4 ounces of simple syrup, and ice. 

Directions: Using a pitcher, mix the lime wedges with sugar. Then add the cachaça, orange muscat and simple syrup and shuffle well. Put in the ice, stir, and strain the caipirinha into glasses.

Tequila-Watermelon Aguas Frescas with Prosecco

Food & Wine also brings us this cool and collected summer sophistication. Serves 12.

Ingredients: 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 chilled seedless watermelon (20 cups of cubed watermelon with the rind discarded), 3/4 cup of tequila blanco, 6 thinly sliced limes, 3 mint sprigs (extra for garnish), ice, and a chilled bottle of prosecco.

Directions: Get out a small saucepan and mix the water and sugar at a boil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Then transfer the simple syrup into a bowl (heatproof) to let cool. Next get a blender and puree the watermelon until smooth, using batches if necessary. Strain this puree into a large bowl/pitcher. Mix in the simple syrup, tequila, lime slices, 3 mint sprigs, and 1/2 cup of water. Serve by pouring the watermelon agua fresca into glasses of ice, leaving just one inch at the top. Finish off with prosecco and garnish!

Flamin’ Hot Bloody Mary

Another classic is vastly improved with the help of delish. Serves 3.

Ingredients: 1/3 cup Flamin’ Hot Cheetos (finely crushed), 1 teaspoon lime zest, 3 lime wedges, two cups of tomato juice, 8 ounces of vodka, 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon horseradish, 1 tablespoon hot sauce, juice of 1/2 lime, black pepper, 3 pickle spears, 3 stalks of celery, and more Flamin’ Hot Cheetos for garnish.

Directions: Using a small, shallow plate, combine crushed Cheetos with lime zest. Rub 1 lime wedge around the rims of your three glasses and roll the wet rims in Cheeto mixture to cover. Then use a large pitcher to stir the tomato juice, vodka, worcestershire, horseradish, hot sauce, and lime juice, and season Bloody Mary mixture liberally with pepper. Fill glasses with ice and bloody mary mixture. Garnish with the pickle spears, celery stalks, lime wedges, and a handful of Cheetos. Best served with straws!
