I have always thought to myself that there are some movies that are basically a right of passage for every girl. As stupid as it sounds, I feel like these movies somewhat shaped me into the person I am today, and I honestly can’t imagine my life if I hadn’t watched these movies growing up. These are movies I have watched many times and have been a big part of my childhood. I love everything about them, from the cleverly written dialogues, notable casts, and amazing soundtracks. So here they are, in no particular order, 5 movies that I think every girl should watch:

1. Mean Girls

This one’s a no brainer. Mean Girls is a great movie with an endless amount of funny and memorable quotes. Every line of the movie is very cleverly written and the movie is a perfect exaggeration of what life is like for a high school girl.

2. Legally Blonde

I can’t say enough positive things about this movie. There are so many important lessons to be learned from it, and so many positive messages. It is definitely a must watch.

3. John Tucker Must Die

This movie is one of my all time favorites. It shows such a great example of girls supporting other girls, and is also very funny. This movie is definitely a right of passage for every teen girl.

4. The Devil Wears Prada

This movie gets better every time I watch it. It is clever, flashy, and it stars Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. What’s not to love?

5. A Cinderella Story

This is a movie I’ll never get sick of watching. It does a very good job of capturing how a lot of girls felt when they were in High School. Even though the movie is from 2004, it is still very relevant today.
