American Horror Story is the perfect show to watch during spooky season. The seasons are dependent of one another, so you can watch the seasons out of order. I have ranked them from best to worse:
- Apocalypse

I know that I just said the seasons are dependent of each other, however this one is an exception. Even though you can watch it without having watched AHS before, this season incorporates aspects from Murder House and Coven, so I recommend watching those ones first. You really won’t regret it, because this season of AHS is absolutely amazing.
- Murder House

Hello, spooky! This season follows a family as they move into a haunted house to escape their troubled past. I highly recommend this season and it’s even cooler that it continues in Apocalypse!
- Asylum

This season is definitely one of the more gruesome ones…however it is very interesting, and I recommend giving it a try.
- Coven

Coven is all about witches. Again, this season shows up again in Apocalypse and it’s the best thing ever.
The next four ranked seasons are definitely not my favorite. They were difficult to finish, unlike the first four seasons mentioned. However, maybe you’ll like them more than me!
- Cult

This season is a spooky/scary take on the 2016 election. It had so much potential to be good, but it lost me when they started incorporating clowns
- Freak Show

This season was interesting, but it lost that as it carried on. It became almost boring and didn’t leave me wanting more like the other seasons.
I was actually never able to watch these last two seasons, and I’m not even sad about it. I haven’t heard anything worthwhile about these two seasons, so I never bothered to watch them.

- Roanoke
If you’re going to watch American Horror Story this spooky season, start with Murder House, Coven, and then Apocalypse. This trio of seasons is so good I’ll probably re-watch it myself!
