This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Cincinnati chapter.

Songs to Start Your Morning Off Right

It’s November, which means that winter is just around the corner. The days will soon be short, mornings will be dark and cold. It will feel impossible to leave your bed in the morning! On those mornings where making it to class on time feels impossible, I use music to motivate me for the day and get me out of my sleepy schlump. Here are five songs I use to get my morning rocking and rolling:

1.)   “Would You be so Kind” – dodie

British YouTuber and singer dodie has been making a name for herself, with viral hits such as “Sick of Losing Soulmates” and “You.” The song listed here, “Would You be so Kind” is an upbeat song accompanied by a ukulele and is sure to make your morning a little bit brighter.

2.)   “Send My Love (To Your New Lover) – Adele

Adele first rose to fame with her second album, 21, and while there are plenty of songs to jam out to, it’s this song off of her latest album, 25, that will definitely make your morning.

3.)   “Burning” – Maggie Rogers

Maggie Rogers has just wrapped up touring for her latest album, Heard It in A Past Life, and this song off of that album is one that makes you want to dance around while you’re getting ready in the morning.

4.)   “Cosmic Love” – Florence + the Machine

With stunning accompaniment and vocals, “Comic Love” by Florence + the Machine is going to definitely get your morning off to a good start.

5.)   “Lover” – Taylor Swift

If you’re in the mood for a slow and sweet song to get your morning going, look no further. The title track off of Taylor Swift’s latest album, Lover, is sure to have you singing into your hairbrush in no time.
