Reading nonfiction, as a lover of all things fantasy, can be the most difficult thing on the planet.,especially if you’re a student. After a long day of classes, reading more dry content is not most people’s idea of fun. Thankfully, there are a few ways to make this more bearable and even develop a healthy appreciation of the genre!

Read what interests you

Since nonfiction can seem really dry and dull, it’s important that you go with a topic that interests you! Even if it’s only a passing interest, it’s better to read what is fascinating as opposed to what you think you’re supposed to be reading.

Set a daily page goal

Sometimes, you just have to sit down and make yourself do read. Setting a goal of 10-20 pages a day will keep you moving through the book and will make you feel accomplished when you reach it!

Try different types

There are a lot of different types of nonfiction, from memoirs to handbooks to essays. If you don’t like one type, try another!

Read it along with a fictional book

If you set a daily goal of pages, it’s a good idea to reward yourself with some fiction everytime you reach it! This can be great motivation to finish your nonfiction book faster!

Just keep going!

The more you read nonfiction, the easier and more interesting it will get! The important thing to do is to just keep going!
