Get ready to absolutely CRUSH those exams!

Now that midterms are over, it is crunch time to get your grades just right for the end of the semester. As important as the beginning and end of the semester is, the in-between is crucial, especially if you are not the best test taker. Making sure you’re staying on track is so important, so follow some of our tips to make sure you land those perfect grades…

1. Don’t be afraid to ask for help

Teachers tend to jam a lot of homework, tests, and quizzes at you during this time, to try and help you boost your grade. This can also mean that they are rapidly teaching lessons, to get all of the information to you. If you are lost, even a little, don’t be afraid to raise your hand or go to office hours and ask questions. You can even go to office hours weekly, even if you are not confused, to help you freshen up on your skills. Every assignment and lesson is important and is setting you up for your career. Take everything seriously, your teachers are there to help you, not hurt you.

2. Do all assignments

Keeping on top of your assignments ensures you will have strong grades. Many teachers count homework as part of your grade, so not doing it would lower your grade. It may be a lot sometimes, but it reinforces the skills you are learning in class ad giving you extra practice so that you can be prepared for your finals.

3. Attend all of your classes

Teachers also count attendance as part of your grade, so it is super important that you go and participate. It also makes sure that you are learning all the lessons being taught, so the homework and tests are not as hard for you.

4. Take notes

No one can remember things strictly from memory. When you are in class or reading your textbook, taking notes can help you remember what you are being taught. It is also a crucial study skill, so when you aren’t in class, you can remember what was taught that day.

5. Form study groups

Get some of your friends from your class and form a study group. You can meet weekly and go over what you learned for the entire week, work on homework, study for tests and quizzes, or ask questions. This is a reliable tool when you cannot attend office hours.

Using these tools can help you keep your grades up and make your classes a lot easier. We hope they help you stay on track and get ready for finals.
