Anyone who knows me well knows that I 1. Get irritated/annoyed relatively easily and 2. I can’t hide my RBF when I’m in a bad mood. It’s pretty amazing that I’ve managed to work in food service for the last couple of years and haven’t been fired. If you’ve never worked in food service, or at least customer service at all, I highly recommend trying it out for a short period of time to build some character. With that being said, these are my all-time pet peeves working in a drive-thru:

1. Ordering more than $70 worth of food
Order online and pick it up in the store. You’ve just effed over ever car behind you if the drive-thru location isn’t equipped to pull up multiple cars.
2. Asking for something after you’ve already been cashed out and I’m handing you your food
You could’ve asked while ordering and when I cashed you out.
3. Pulling up and immediately yelling “HELLO”
There is a sensor. If you do this, I am immediately set off no matter how nice you are.

4. Being on a phone call
This makes my job ten times harder because I don’t know who you’re trying to talk to. Somehow you manage to make me feel like I’m in the wrong while I’m just trying to do my job. If you ignore me while I’m reading your order back, I hope it’s hella messed up. If you talk on the phone through your car’s BlueTooth speaker, you’ve committed the ultimate offense and will face judgment from a Higher Power.
5. Asking if/why we raised the prices
I literally can’t even afford to eat here why tf are you complaining to me.
6. Rattling off a 5 item order without a breath
Why do so many middle-aged ladies have literally zero manners and/or patience?
Avoid these behaviors if you are in a drive-thru line because we are just trying to do our job.
